You are not fat.

lexieatshealthy:

You are a soul. You are a mind. You are not fat. You have fat. You also have fingernails, but you aren’t fingernails, are you? You have hair, but you aren’t hair, are you? You have fat, but you are not fat. You are beautiful.

Mental health is just as important as physical health! Losing weight and becoming healthy will be MUCH more enjoyable if you don’t beat yourself up about it :) (And I’m sure you know this—changing habits is unpleasant! You’ll need all the strength and focus you can garner to successfully get in shape!)

Junk Food Craving? Here’s a tip that works for me!

The kids menu at most places has considerably less calories—if you plan ahead! I found myself at Rubio’s (a mexican fast food restaurant) today with my friends, and I couldn’t just not eat anything.

I got the kids menu (1 fish taco, 1 small side of rice, 1 small churro, and a small drink) and overall it was less than 500 calories. Fast food restaurants for the most part have smaller portions for kids menus, which helps cut the calories substantially. Having many small things also beats the craving really well—I got my salt/fat fix from the fish taco, my sweet fix from the churro, and savory fix from the rice.

CAREFUL THOUGH: Planning ahead is always a safe bet—look up a restaurant’s menu and see what high-calorie foods are on their menu (it may surprise you!) If I had gotten a bean burrito instead of a fish taco, my meal would have been over 800 calories!

Water is always the way to go! Unsweetened tea is also a great option if you just want to sip on a drink while your friends eat at a fast food restaurant! It’ll fight cravings, fill you up, and is 0 calories! (Just make sure to eat a healthy meal afterwards, you won’t want to feel hungry!)

UGH

I’m almost 300 calories over my budget today!! >:(

I’ve already run for about 10 minutes, and walked for 40. I think I’ll do some weights. There’s no way I’ll burn 300 calories before bed, but the more the better! Gotta shake it off, start over tomorrow! I can do this!
